Read Andreas’s Story

Date of Birth: 23rd November, 1957

Andreas Kambas lived a simple and humble life in the village of Nea Triglia, Halkidiki, Greece. He spent his life living with and caring for his parents, whom he loved deeply and treated with the utmost respect. After the passing of his father, and later his mother, Andreas continued to be remembered by those who knew him as a kind and compassionate person.

Above all, Andreas was known for his generosity and humanity. He believed in treating every person with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or circumstances. If someone was in need, he would often offer help, whether it was sharing a meal, lending a hand, or simply taking the time to speak with them with kindness.

Andreas enjoyed spending time with friends and was a sociable person. He often went out in the evenings to local cafés, restaurants, or bars to enjoy good company and conversation. He was respectful towards others, especially women, and was known as a man of integrity, strong morals, and good character. He never sought to take advantage of anyone; instead, he was someone who was always willing to help those around him.

He lived a healthy lifestyle and did not smoke or drink alcohol. His quiet nature, honesty, and willingness to help others made him stand out as someone who valued decency, respect, and compassion.

I had the privilege of spending time with Andreas during a visit to Greece in 2006. My husband, Kyriacos, and I shared many evenings with him, and he would regularly take us out for dinner. These are memories that I will always treasure and they reflect the generous and caring person that Andreas was.

I am Andreas’ first cousin from his father’s side of the family. Andreas’ father, Anastasis, was my mother’s brother. I created this website to honour Andreas’ memory, preserve the story of his life, and provide a place where family, friends, and others can learn more about the man he was.

To those who knew Andreas, he will always be remembered for his kindness, humility, generosity, and unwavering respect for others. His memory continues to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
